I’m working on a piece about child sexual violence in Canada.
Look at the difference. In Canada, 1 in 6 boys experience sexual violence. Globally, it is 1 in 13. Ask yourself why. Could it be that other nations define child sexual violence differently? That some children get to name the harm done to them and others do not?
I knew the research. I wrote the paper. But seeing the statistics visually stopped me cold.
Why do numbers hit harder than words?
Because counting turns tragedy into scale — and scale is impossible to ignore.
I’ve decided to keep this post, just to grab the world stats. The rest of the infographic kind of sucks.
